Family Law Attorney
With over 20 years of experience, Russell Atkatsh has represented thousands of clients in over 60 courts throughout Washington State. His practice focuses primarily on family law, including dissolution, legal separation and dependency matters. According to Russell, “Family law is more than family law. The issues brought up by parties, and decisions made by courts, have financial & employment impacts, and sometimes involve the criminal justice system.”
He was drawn to the practice of family law due to his focus on helping clients through pragmatic solutions, the opportunity to appear in court and interact with clients, and his capacity to draw on the knowledge he gained from extensive experience in both criminal law and bankruptcy to assist family law clients.
Russell received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminology from Florida State University in 1998. He attended Gonzaga University School of Law on a Dean’s Scholarship for Academic Achievement and graduated with his Juris Doctorate Degree in 2002.
While at Gonzaga University he was a semi-finalist in the Linden Cup Appellate Advocacy Competition, the Associate Editor for the Journal of International Law, a Student Bar Association Representative and advocated for low-income clients at the Gonzaga Center for Law & Justice.
When not advocating for clients, Mr. Atkatsh enjoys spending time with his family, taking his dogs out on adventures, Mariners & Rainiers baseball, and exploring the many brew pubs of the Pacific Northwest.
